Nice sunset...I'd remove the large rock in the front of the photo and make it a more pano photo. For me that makes the sunset pop more.

Brings out the sky color a bit but seems to break the shot in half. Hm- Glad I got a few more that day. :)

    Thanks for the comment.

Might just be my crappy work computer but it looks over done and a little unrealistic. ne_nau.gif

:nono The foreground looks like you tried to use HDR or overused Shadow/Highlight. It's very noticable in the green vegetation. The sky and background rock formation look great.

3 different monitors - same conclusion

gluewater already pointed out the vegetation so no need to say it again.

The sky is the best part of the photo- hands down- great color great depth

The light on the rocks is great but the rocks are lacking details and depth. The rock formation on the rt side is pretty good but if you look closely there is a green smudge on the area that looks like a snail shell. That shouldn't be there.deal.gif

Now- compare the depth you have of the rock on the right with the lack of depth for the rocks on the left. The rocks become very flat- very yellow- very unnatural. Look at the top of the left rock formation where it meets the sky- does it look natural? Compare it to the rt side again.

Is that enough to support my original comment or do I need to keep going? rolleyes1.gif

Agree with previous comments. Sky is gorgeous. Overall the images seems over processed. Bushes and bright rocks don't look natural.

I lowered the saturation on the juniper (green vegetation) and the shot looks much better now. Thanks again.

Joshua Tree National Park can be a weird sci-fi looking place.

The reflective qualities of the biotite mica and feldspar in the quartz monzogranite, with little splashes of green liechen, do cool things in the direct and ambient light of cloudy skies at sunsets. The place trips me out.
