Waiting for spring

I took a walk in the woods this warmish Saturday looking for signs of spring, in The Fells of Winchester, Massachusetts, near Long Pond. I found the snow drying up but no animals stirring yet.

A creek running through the woods:








The texture of tree bark, highlighted in the sunshine:



And last year's leaf, still holding on like a ghost of its former self:



No flowers, though!

Your waiting for Spring we're heading into Autumn, however Summer thinks it's still here and we're still having some very hot days.
We desperately need rain.

Love the Bark shot the foamy water leaves interesting patterns.
