Hi, I'm just new at this whole thing (smugmug and taking photos). I received a new camera for my birthday, a Nikon D40 and have been taking shots. Before this camera, I only had a point and shoot regular camera. I would love some feedback on my pics....am trying to learn. My homepage is lammg.smugmug.com Thanks

    Hi Glamm,

Welcome and you have some great sunset shots! Since this is a shots forum, it would be most hlepful to embed a photo or two (or three...) into your thread, or at the very least activating a link into your post so that users can click rather than copy, open a new browser and past.

Need help? This tute here will tell ya how to do it.

Look forward to seeing/hearing more from you thumb.gif

Nope did not work. They are between Image location tags from using the createlink.gif button instead of between Image location tags by using the insertimage.gif!

    Try it again!

Yes, you must image link the photos. And instead of using the small versions, use the extra large ones. You can simply change the s.jpg in the url to xl.jpg
    Canon eos 30d; EF 17-40 f/4.0L; EF 24-85mm f/3.5; EF 50mm f/1.4; EF 70-200mm f/4.0L; Unicorns of various horn lenghts

Hi..thanks for the reply..this is driving me nuts. I don't have the two tags on my screen insertimage.gif, createlink.gif. The only one I have is:
    insertimage.gif
    and this one:
    unlink.gif

Am I looking in the right spot. These are in the tool bar on my message screen.

I tried again by selecting insert image
    insertimage.gif

Don't know if it will work
If not I will just have to keep trying. I did everything the tute said to do...but???headscratch.gif

Hope to talk with you again. rolleyes1.gif

When I try the insert image (the icon you showed that you tried) on the last link you posted I get:

    267112352_3eapc-L.jpgn

The HTML shows a href tag which is a link. It should show IMG tag.

I am going to keep trying this till I get link with the createlink.gif button.

First highlight the url and use the button that looks something like removeformat.gif to get rid of the link tags. THe re-highlight if you have to and do the insertimage.gifbutton which is the same button as my more colorful one. I am just using a different 'look' for viewing this forum.

Try again. You can also click on the switchmode.gif button in the top right coner and view the code and see how it is double coded in the above quote.

That last one is CLOSE, but you are combining a link with an image (advanced usage) and you didn't close your "quote" tag from slinky... for now, just use the "image tag", if you leave your mouse over each image for a few seconds a little box will pop-up telling you what it does. You don't need to do a hyper-link within your image link to get it to work.

FWIW when you are done it should look kinda like this:
    [ img ]http://your.site.here/path/to/image.jpg[ /img ] (just without the spaces)
