:D One of the seniors I photographed last week brought her granny along. I heard her chuckling several times behind me, but when I would turn to see what she was up to she pretended that nothing was up. She sent me these...and others in an email yesterday. I took the very last one. She is responsible for the rest.

I guess this goes to show how much attention I pay to the world outside my viewfinder when I am photographing people....not very much.

...and how low I can go?

How fun! I actually wish I had a good shot of myself during a shoot. I love the shot you took of her granddaughter!

All of these show the Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS mounted with it's hood. The only other one I used that day was the 85mm F1.8.

BTW.....The 17-55 is a VERY good lens if you are shooting a body that can handle EFS lenses. It's rather large and heavy....as a bit pricey...but worth all those hassles.

....she had told me on the way that she was a shutterbug. Says she knows nothing about photography, but carries a camera EVERYWHERE.

    Hey I am a believer!!!:D

Granny did an awesome job! I think you should think yourself lucky she's not doing your job for you and getting the pay! :D

Great shot of the senior, BTW. clap.gif

I asked the dad of a senior I photographed last fall to get some photos of me working with his son. He was too shy about the results to send them to me. There is a woman photographer who I run into from time to time at one of the parks I use. We exchanged business cards once for the purpose of helping each other out with weddings/events. I have thought about approaching her for this purpose, and we could each get photos of ourselves working for our websites. Maybe next time I see her working I will just shoot her and then see if she will return the favor.

I must say, this gal took more photos of me than my family has in the last two years. I am usually the one behind the camera at my house. I am positive that most of you on this forum are in the same boat.

If I had known she was taking photos, I certainly would have had her next to me to get great photos of her grandaughter.....and not of me!!!

Her camera obviously has too low of resolution to capture my full head of hair....so her getting some of the poses wouldn't threaten me!!!:D

    Hey, Granny's not bad ;)
She got some good photog in action shots! What camera was she using?

I really like her shot #5 and your resulting shot. Gotta get down to the nitty gritty sometimes to get a good angle. clap.gif

Would be nice to see a whole thread for "photog in action" started (unless I've missed an existing one.)

These are too cool!!! These could be very cool on your website. People just eat up the "behind the scenes" shot coupled with the "end result." It's reality photography at its best! rolleyes1.gif

And darnit if your "end result" photo in this series isn't to die for. Good grief that's a beautiful photo! thumb.gif

First off, your shot is GREAT!

It's also real cute that granny took shots of youclap.gif . I think you should ask the other photographer lady to come out and you can each take some of the other. When I was down Kentucky shooting Rolex myself and two other photographer's took pictures of each other and then laughed at ourselves afterwards. So you may feel a little silly at first, but it's really nice to have! (So I don't hijack your thread, here are links

She was using a little pocket sized P&S.

AS for the nitty gritty, I am wanting a right angle finder to get even more nittier grittier!!

I agree about the thread. Might be fun.

Yes!! I thought it was neat that I could identify a few of the what she saw, what I saw pairs. This was the best though....especially with me lying on the ground. My wife asked that same day why I was wearing my old "holy" jeans and Vans. It's because I know the first thing I'll do is lie on the ground.

It was fun. Turns out her grandmother and my mother graduated HS together. They had called prior to the shoot to get directions, and I realized I was near them and so had them park, and drove them downtown with me. It made it easier to get a parking spot down there, and we got to know each other before the shoot rather than wasting 15 or so minutes worth of shots warming up.

    Thanks Lynne,

My first inkling was to use them on my site, but I am not sure of the resolution. I am going to have to ask if she can get me larger files. I had to add in a good bit of contrast after setting a BP in her photos. I could squeeze something much better from a largewr file I think.

She is a great looking young lady with a very easy smile. She was totally at ease as if her least worry were how the photos would turn out. Very good to work with.

Granny's exif says Fuji Finepix F10.

The camera was about the size of a deck of cards....and unfortunately had a proprietary battery. I offered her some AAs once I found out what she was up to and that she was out of juice, but it had a fuji battery. We have 3 Fuji P&S cameras at home plus a two pocket sized canons and ALL of them take AA batteries.ne_nau.gif

I have a senior session this morning about 45 minutes from town and am considering bringing one of the P&S cams for the mom to get some shots like these. The oak canopy should be breathtaking.
