Phyllium Siccifolium Nymph
A shot of a leaf insect, it is about 15mm long with a head diameter of about 1.5mm.
Picture taken with it on a fresh budding hawthorn leaf under natural window light at f11 iso 200 1.5secs @ 210mm.
Flash might be better but hard enough getting an exposure on these little critters without having to deal with softening flash, even breathing near them sets them of disco dancing.
Hope some people find this a little interesting and different.

That's fantastic. If you get another chance, and could get enough exposures to be able to focus stack, and could get that wonderful curled-over rear end sharp, it would be worth the effort. As is, it's merely superb.:D

nice one, but do try flash. ive only just started using flash about 2 weeks ago and exposure isnt a problem.
do try a focus stack.

nice photo - but I do agree with goldenorfe - use the flash. The shadows will be filled and the picture will go from nice to outstanding.

I've also gotta say, my son loves seeing all of these photos of the insect world so keep them coming!

LOvely capture- very strange bug indeed - wonder if they ever get aphids ?
