Save files with .jpg extension

When I download files using the pop-up box in SmugMug, the photos download to my desktop without the .jpg extension at the end, like this:

268843313_Regan

I'd like to be able to download photos from SmugMug and have them automatically add the .jpg extension as follows:

268843313_Regan.jpg

Anyone know of a way to do this? I looked around for other posts but didn't see this anywhere. I imagine it would be an issue for others as well.

Thanks in advance!!

Darren

As far as we've been able to determine, this is a bug, but within the browser. Can you let us know which browser you're using to DL images?

Was this ever addressed? I seem to be having the same issue with Firefox 3.0.1

Does this only happen with JPG file? Or any file type? The reason I ask, is that in XP (and Windows 2000) the default setting was to HIDE KNOWN FILETYPE EXTENSIONS, which means, since Windows knows about JPG files, it doesn't show you the JPG file extension.

You can turn that back on by:

    - Double click on my computer
    - Double click on Local Disk C
    - Select Tools...Folder Options
    - On the Folder Options Dialog, click View
    - Make sure that 'Hide extensions for known file types' is NOT checked.

    Hope that helps.

    Mike.

If there is a space in the file name, the .jpg extension gets truncated in FireFox. I don't know if it's a FF bug or a SmugMug bug but it's been around a while. I had to rename a bunch of files and re upload them a few months ago for this very reason.
