Anyone ever shot a paintball course?

I've always liked the pictures of paintball, and am thinking about trying it, my only concern is how do I protect my camera and lens. I usally don't worry about them, with most sports, but I have a feeling someone may want to take a shot at anyone they can. Also would you shoot from inside, or through the net?:scratch

OR. For the fun of it. 2 bodies, a prime 50mm and a prime 100. Full-on PJ/combat style. That'd be really cool, too!
Either way, your gear could get damaged, but I think it is unlikely.
Don't forget to post the pics!

Canon 30D, some lenses and stuff... I think im tired or something, i have a hard time concentrating.. hey look, a birdie!:clap
Just imagine, very carefully, if that paintball had impacted your eye, instead of your camera's lens. Your eye could end up in a bottle on a shelf in a hospital pathology lab.......
Always, and I mean always, wear head, eye and ear protection anywhere near the field. And then have fun
