My BiL, on the same trip, had a Tamron 200-500 and a Canon 70-200 2.8 and kept having to change lenses/swop cameras...

nice ones AL!!clap.gif I like the 1st because it shows how wide open the country is & the 3rd "close up" well done. clap.gif

That is exactly why I got the bigma.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

You know, Al, if the critters here were as large as they are by you...I think I could get by with 70-300 very easily! mwink.gif

    Gotta like these shots!thumb.gif

These are wonderful photos. I find my Canon 70-300 falling short for the wildlife shots around here.

I tried to make that work for some time.:nah

300 is barely long enough and too soft if it is on that lens.

Thanks Dave! Every time I use the Bigma, I have the thought that I'll never be able to use a long prime.

Thanks Harry - exposure was quite tricky with the overcast (and rainy) weather!

Thanks Sandy! 300 is a bit short in the wild, even 400 might be too short...

Thanks Glenn! These were taken in Pilanesberg Game Reserve - a bit closer to me than Kruger.

Al I am planning on an African Safari in Fall of 2009. Any recommendations. I need something fairly "luxurious" as I will be taking my wife. :D:D

Looks like your Bigma is a great Safari Lens?
