5 Weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia
Well after spending much time researching where to go and what to do on our travels through Vietnam, (Big thanks to those who contributed to my 'Location Location Location' post. I have returned from a successful holiday abroad.
I took about 4000 pics and still haven't processed the lot yet so I'll just post in small batches.
From Perth in Western Australia we flew to Singapore and arrived at about 3am, luckily we were met by a friend who has an apartment just off Orchard rd. It may have been early but I had to take a pic from the 19th floor.
After a few hours sleep we were off in search of breakky and also for a quick explore.
Riding a very empty train on the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)
A quick pic of Boat Quay.
After a stop for lunch we were off again for our final destination, Hanoi, Vietnam.
We arrived pretty late so the following morning we had an explore of our new surrounds. Hanoi is an old french colony but still maintains its own culture and identity it just has some French architecture and culinary delights.
This is Hoan Kiem lake near the centre of Hanoi.
One of my favourite things to do is always check out the local markets
This is entrance to the Temple of Literature where Confucius studied and so did alot of his disciples
This kid couldn't help but giggle at the silly westerner snapping photo's!
Taking a break from all the hussle bussle going on
From here we went to the Museum of War and the Hanoi Flag Tower.
This Mig was supposedly responsible for shooting down 14 American planes
A memorial created from debris that had crashed down in Hanoi.
The great laneway that lead down to the Hanoi Backpackers where we based ourselves for a few days.
Hoan Kiem Lake by night
The water puppet theatre by night.
Some typical hoising in Hanoi
Ok so thats a very quick look at Singapore and Hanoi, from here we took a bus To Halong City and boarded a Junk for a 3 day cruise but I'll save that for another post.
Hope you enjoy :thumb

I hate to dissappoint you ColdClimb, but no climbing pics will appear. My GF is not a climber so I agreed to make this purely a backpacking expolre trip of Vietnam.
