Another image from last fall on the Myakka River. This Spoonbill was feeding along the bank as we floated by, captured handheld from our kayak.

Canon XTI - 100-400 L IS 4.5-5.6
1/640
f/9.0
ISO200
Focal Length 275mm

CC always appreciated.

Nice capture, good comp and sharpness. Looks like you shot it in bright light and I've found that bright light washes the color out of the spoonbills. You will get better results in my subdued lighting.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Harry you are dead on about the light. I'm working on the navigator to be more understanding of the lighting rules in photography. She is doing better!

Dave, not yet, but it ain't from a lack of trying. We have a pretty stable platform to work from. 16' and pretty sold.

    Thanks Zack.
