so to sum up what I think of nikon service and the d300 this shot tells it all and was shot with a d200 so the shot would not look like the subject wings.gif you get what I mean

I hate to tell you Jeff, but most D300 users are rather happy campers. Also all the reviews I've seen have been raves.

Maybe you could be more specific with your complaints, the Cameras Forum would be a good place for that post.

You also might consider deleting that last shot as its kind of in bad taste.

Jeff --- I, too, have had extremely bad service from Nikon, including a time on the phone when the Nikon technician said he was going to get a service bulletin, and then left for 30 minutes while I heard him and another guy in the background talk about a previous night's TV program.

Nikon never did fix the problems with my Cool Scan III film scanner; I had to do that myself by searching the net, where I also posted the specific details of the problems with the Nikon scanner and my experiences with Nikon "service," as suggested by Harry. The site was indexed by Google, so many others could benefit from my experience. --- John

Since this thread is taking a turn away from wildlife photography I'm going to move it to the cameras forum.

That's some very old poo ya got there Jeff, or did you "desaturate" it in PS? I sure hope I have a better experience with my new D300 (UPS tomorrowwings.gif ) than you obviously had with yours. I still like my D200 too.

    Decidedly!

Well, none of the shots here are especially good and if you are as inarticulate with Nikon Service as you are here it's no wonder they've been unable to solve whatever problem you think you have. ne_nau.gif

Lets keep it civil everyone. The issue is the D300 camera and Nikon's service and nothing else. Jeff has been posting outstanding wildlife shots for awhile now. He is having problems with his D300. Hopefully he can expand on his original post as to what exactly he is unhappy with.

Any insights you may wish to share should be about the D300. Any OT insights will be edited or deleted.

    Great Nikon Customer Service experience
I recently sent a lens in for warranty service and was very please with the service from Nikon's California service center. Hmmm...

I was looking for the problems you have been having with the D300. I seen mention of exposure problems. My D300 died completely sent back to Nikon in El Segundo and have been really working it over since then and it has been better than ever. I wish the turn around was quicker but that was me being greedy. Sorry you are having issues. I had been questioning the sharpness of the D300 before but most of it was me and settings. Very big learning curve for me with this camera but it really made me pay attention and learn more about the art.
Hope all turns out well for you.
