A few great egrets from a local rookery
near downtown Dallas no less. It is the rookery located on the grounds of the University of Texas Soutwestern Medical Center. The Great Egrets were the only ones there except for a fly-by by five anhingas. Here are some images in very windy conditions.
I wish some of the shots were cleaner but you have to take what you are given. I expect the cattle egrets and little blue herons to show up soon.

Looking forward to seeing more from your rookery.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry. Here is one from last July that I had originally passed on. I was having to really maneuver to get a clean shot, then, after getting a shot, I though it was too soft. I decided to process it recently. Here it is. It is a cattle egret with chicks.

Thanks Glenn. I like the comb-over pic too.

Great job! Those are razor sharp images with great detail.
Thanks Mike. One turned out well I thought too. It was one of my few unobstructed shots.
