Great stuff, Dave. clap.gif In the first one, I love the shadows on both hands combined with the absence of a visible corner on the background. I'm not sure I like the third one--too much arm and not enough face for my taste--but all of the rest are have wonderful color and exposure. Very well done.

    Post some more.

    Cheers,

    Thanks peeps
It was a great day for sure. Still processing some others that catch my eye. Just as an aside, for those who are glass freaks: The first is the Tamron 28-75 shot at f/2.8. The stairwell shot is with the kit lens at f/5.6/18mm. The last was shot with the 28-135 @ f/5.6/115mm. This demonstrates (in my mind anyway) that it's not so much the glass as the technique. Naturally, a better body will make significant differences. These were shot with the 40D.

Here's another with the kit lens:

All are great with 1, 4, & 5 being my faves. I agree with the arm in #3 being too dominant. It looks like you had an awesome day!

Love the high-key work, how did that exactly work with it looking like there's a wall around here? Did you simply wrap the background around her or something? That's interesting!

Love the skin-tones, colors, the exposures are pretty much dead on. thumb.gif

Nice play of DOF on the 4th and 5th one.

The 3rd one could have used a reflector to give her right-side more light, but thats it.

    Very cool. Thanks for sharing!

I'm also interested in your #1 HK setup. bowdown.gif
Very nice light overall, except for the last one in the lead post, where it looks too flat for my taste ne_nau.gif

Great shots Dave....must be nice having the models to work with...while I'm also not a big fan of the hardware, the shots themselves are excellent. thumb.gif

Nik & Mr. Peas: The HK shot was fairly simple. Bought 2 4x8 sheets of foamcore at the lumber yard..pink on one side, reflective white on the other. Set these up between a long window in the studio, supported them at the top with some pvc piping/masking tape. Put model inbetween, one softbox, blow out the background and wahlah...high key. The first was shot at f/2.8 with the tammy.

The last shot of the first series Nik....shot with an AB800 ringlight. I realize some don't like the look as there aren't really shadows/modeling but I really dig that look at times. That silly flash is somewhat idiot proof and is fun to use. I'll be getting a beauty dish soon for one of my AB's...can't wait to give that a whirl.

Still working on some..will post when ready..Laughing.gif Thanks for weighing in...really appreciate it.

Thanks for the kind words Mike & Randy! I'm not real wild about the hardware either but of course I'm like from another era :D. Mike, we'll be buying each other beers for certain mwink.gif

I like one, three and four. As for two . . . where's her right arm? Number one is my absolute favorite: I love high key. clap.gif Number five is beautiful.

    Great work, Swartzy! thumb.gifthumb.gif

Nicely done, Swartzy! Great job on the HK. My favorite though, is #5. She looks so fresh and radiant. Looks like a magazine cover. thumb.gif

I like 1 and 5. #2 would be my favorite, nitpick though is her legs dominate because of the wide angle lens.

Very impressive work, Dave! The lighting is phenomenal. bowdown.gif

And your models (especially the 1st) did an amazing job. Wow! I just love the cheekiness of #1 and the sexy contrast of #2.....whoa! That's a gorgeous shot. I also love the lighting in #4, keeping the reflections down on a shiny top like that is no small feat. Ya done (very!) good.

Wow. I love the (shot of the) redhead. And for me the light's not too flat at all. Really nice work.
