The Neon Boneyard is the place where old Las Vegas signs are laid to rest. Eventually many of these signs will be restored and displayed at various locations throughout Las Vegas. Others will remain here until they decay away. You may have seen the Boneyard featured in print, television, movies and music videos.

Here is a selection of images from the Boneyard that I shot in infrared on March 29, 2008.

Cool series, Bill. The first shot really intrigued me...I think it's because the city skyline it pictured was only about five stories high. Very nice.

Love the series, Bill. That boneyard is one place I'd like to visit, someday. Very nice images. thumb.gifthumb.gif

    Cool shots. thumb.gif

I've been meaning to get there someday, but never do. Is it a pay-to-see sorta thing? Can one go there at night?

    Thanks

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

We had special access to the boneyard (later in the day for better light), but they do have public tours of the place.

You can also rent the place out for special photo or video shoots, even at night like MTV did during the Video Music Awards a couple years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W2KtqlBqLA (you would have to bring your own power generators because it's a big dirt lot without any power).
