Hi everyone,

I'm new here...& new to photography (I've always "took pictures", but never anything other than with a "point & shoot" camera). I went out out week and got my first DSLR, a Rebel XTi & went out this weekend to test it out.

I've got alot to learn! But, I caught this one yesterday & for being so new I thought it turned out pretty awesome!

Joey

Welcome and nice first capture! You'll learn, eventually how to give the picture a little 'pop'. Checkout the tutorials and keep the images coming.

Its a nice shot. If you got this good one this time I suspect future images will
be even better yet. thumb.gif Michael

I always what to long to take the shot on butterflies and bees so they are gone by the time I press the shutter.
I know my spelling and grammar are poor some times my spell check says "I got nothing
for you" and there/ their is no grammar check yet so please forgive me Jesus did.

Thanks for the compliments & encouragement! (& thanks for the links to tips)

Like I said, I have alot to learn & it took a LOT of other shots to get that one (& a few others that turned out pretty good), but hopefully I'll continue to get better.

I'm headed to the foothills of NC tomorrow on my day off to take some pictures of waterfalls. Probably not the easiest thing to photograph (& look decent), but I thought it sounded like a fun day trip on my day off.

Again...thanks for the welcome & kind words. I hope to be posting lots more soon! :D

I know just what you mean...they seem so "slow" & you don't think you need to rush, but just as you're about to take the picture...*poof*...they're flittering off to the next flower...Laughing.gif.
