I have gotten shots of them in the wild but most have to obscured with vegetation. This one was at a state park so more used to people.
PS the water is not really that green it is just the reflection of the foilage in the background272773905_EkxTd-L.jpg

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I'd be tempted to desaturate that green water a tad to emphasize the duck!

Well it's that D300 and its dull colors. Bright duck and bright background. I did not have to bring up the colors any on this one. I agree there is a tad to much green.

Nice capture! I agree with toning the green down a bit, also you might want to consider leaving a little more room in front of the duck.
