Where are my photos?

Morning,

The other day someone asked me where my SmugMug photos are ... where are they stored ... geographically? The vague answer indicated California ... that is all I know. Might even be wrong. So can someone tell me where my photos are located?

Also I believe they are stored in different locations to secure backups and that would also be interesting to know more about.

Here you lost me ... I still don't know where SmugMug is located and actually have no idea what or where Amazon S3 is located.

Can I have a more precise placement of my photos ... or is this a major business secret?

SmugMug HQ is in Mountain View, CA. You'll find that our team is spread out thusly: California, Utah, Idaho, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, New York, The UK, Germany, Netherlands and Australia.

your photos are in our data centers and on Amazon's S3 and we don't give out precise locations, sorry
