I'm with Dave--too wet here (MN) for Baseball. School was closed Monday due to snow and almost all the neighboring schools (9) were 2 hrs late Tue (within 30-40 mi), except us and a neighbor 15 mi away. If things go REALLY well we might get to play on Sat. I'm not holding my breath tho!

What do you use when shooting a night game. I have a 100-400 but it's a 4.5-5.6. I could use a shorter length but then I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get in close enough. All my shots (action shots that is) were blurry. Do you have any suggestions? Also, since you do alot of this, where do you stand? I try not to be in the way or be where I'm in harms way, but I'm not sure what the right postion is yet, any thoughts on that?ne_nau.gif

    1. i use a 70-200vr f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 300mm vr f2.8, 200-400vr f4.

    2. i shoot at very hgh ISO 3200-6400 when dark.
    3. you need to have shutter speed, so you need to learn how to shoot in manual mode.
    4. a 4.5 is not fast enough, any movement will show.
    5. shutter must be min.1/500 for baseball.
    6. i am in a shooting well or a photographers only box. sometimes on field at 1st or 3rd.
    7. sometimes behind fence, behind batter.

Like that first shot of the catcher - great timing getting the ball just before the mitt.
