Custom Hostname with Namecheap

Alright, somehow I have managed to confuse myself.

This is what my host records look like with Namecheap.com.

Each of the drop downs have the following options: URL Redirect, URL Frame, A (Address), CNAME (Alias), TXT Record.

All I need to know is, what else if anything, needs to be changed (I know that the custom hostname option within Smugmug will need to filled in)?

    You're fine.
You can put our ip in for the A record if you like: http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts
Our ip currently is 63.81.134.23 but it may change and if so, you'll need to update your A record.

It can take 24-48 hours for your setting to take effect.

Then put www.cgcomer.com in your Smug control panel, domain field.

Yes, we'd put out a news item on that, which would appear on your homepage. And if you subscribe (control panel, settings tab, mail preferences - or control panel, news tab, see all news and then hit "subscribe") you'll get it.

I don't use this service, but wouldn't it be better if you set up a domain name and then every user made a CNAME record for their domains to your domain name? That way noone would have to change their records if you decide to change IP address (since the CNAME points to your domain instead of your IP address).

CNAME is the primary mapping used, but most of us also have an A record setup. Details at http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts.
