Cherry Blossoms and Kites in DC
Stopped by the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms.
Afterwards, walked around the mall near the Washington Monument - it was crowded with kite flyers out for the Smithsonian Kite Festival.
A wanna-be Red Baron was grounded when the wind died down.
So he simply put down his kite and entertained himself.
And the Red Baron flies again!

We're heading there next weekend. Hopefully there will still be some blossoms left.
Basking in the shadows of yesterday's triumphs'.
Thanks to you both for looking.
davev - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you !
dadwtwins - I was just reading somewhere that in Japanese culture the cherry blossoms symbolize the transient nature of life - appropriate wouldn't you say since they're in bloom for such a short time.
