Am I just Lucky?

I had a SmugMug color profile print done recently and my uncalibrated Dell 20" monitor and the print are almost indistinguishable. I was happy.
Last night I printed the same 8x10 print on my Epson 1400 and it is the very same. I cannot tell the prints apart and they match the monitor almost perfectly...the orange is just slightly more saturated on my Epson print but very close.
Is this the norm with most monitors, printers and lab prints and the out of caliber set ups the exception or did I just get incredibly lucky?
I am using the sRGB color space in camera and when printing on Epson Lustre paper.

I tried printing on the Epson with ProPhoto and RGB color profiles and it was a disaster. I use the sRGB and all is well.
The only problem I have had with prints so far is when I have tried printing in True Color with SmugMug after I had made some drastic changes to the image.
I am just not going to touch anything ever again and be a happy camper.
