Hello everyone. My name is Kim, and I am VEERRRYYY new to the new photography world. I got my NikonD40 X last year and love it. I am still learning all the features it has. I basically got it because when my son received his graduation ring I was the ONLY one with only a video camera which does take still shots but not all that well. My husband was with me and realized that I needed a camera. WOO HOO. He did the reasearch and we decided on the D40X. It serves the purpose for what I need done. Like I said I am new and learning and just love this site. I am hoping to learn a lot. I have not yet learned how to post a picture but will as soon as I understand this site better. Well I have taken up enough of everyones time. Nice to meet ya'll. Take care.

    Welcome Kim...
I also have a D40X. I got it last fall with two lenses 18-55 and 55-200. After a few months I sold the two lenses and bought the 18-200 VR lens. I love the camera and lens. Have you ever used a DSLR before? Try to keep the lens on the camera as much as you can to avoid getting dust on the sensor. If you click on "The Captain's SmugMug Site" in my signature below you can see some of my photos.
    Again, welcome!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Welcome, Kim. I also have a D40x. I bought it in February and I am very pleased with it. It's my first D-SLR and I bought it after many years of not exploring this great passion of ours. Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing your images.
