I am a hobbiest trying to go semi-pro and toward that end I am reading a few books on photography as a business. One I read recently said this, "It is like playing the piano. If you want to learn to play, you have to practice. Same with photography." So, my new goal is to take pictures every day. My daughter is my most willing subject.

Try adding a white card reflector to throw a bit of light on to her dark size - it will make a lot of difference

Thanks. I will try that. I saw the problem, but couldn't think of a solution. I tried a flash, but that didn't work.
