OK, here goes my 2 cents where it probably doesn't belongeek7.gif

The coloring and exposure are all fine. Your subject focus is the only missing element. What are you trying to show the viewer? what is the story?

In your two pictures, nothing really pops out at you and demands attention. The tree'ss similar colors as well as the cluttered look of the trees gives it almost a flat look.

I will stop here so not to offend any more than I probably already have.rolleyes1.gif

    :whew thank you.

Your bottom picture has a great chance to be a perfect background of a lone row boat or fly flisherman.

That is what i meant as a subject focus. You obviously saw something that caught your eye here. Try to show it through your composition and post processing to steer the herd towards your vision.thumb.gif

Yeah, there was nothing to focus on, even the ducks waddled off when i arrived :)

I just liked the snow capped mountains in the distance.

They are nice shots, but I wonder what picture 1 would look like if you cropped out the tree to the left. It would then focus on the bird with the mountain as a backdrop instead of your eye being pulled off to the side
    nice shots anyway
    all the best

I agree with Luckyshot. I'd crop the left just inside of the tree's trunk (cropping out the trunk). Then the tree would help frame the shot and the bird would be close to a rule of thirds intersection. Nice shot though!

    Peace,
