Hi all! I just got two new Bees and now I would like an umbrella and soft box or two. Have no clue which brand is the best. Any input on the good stuff? I'm not very thrifty so not too worried about price, but would like to keep it under a million dollars :D

Thanks a lot for the help!

I go this kit from b and h and am pleased. I was a little price sensitive. I don't know what is up the ladder from this, but these work fine to me.

I've been using Photogenic Eclipse umbrellas & Chimera soft boxes for a couple of decades and they're excellent, but I also have to mention the Westcott Apollo soft boxes which set up like umbrellas & require no speed rings.

I got some softboxes and umbrellas from alien bees when I first bought the lights. Used the heck out of them for a year and and when I went to replace them I found the Calumet brand softboxes and umbrellas were way way WAY higher quality and often less expensive. I can't speak for their online store. I usually walk in to the one here in San Francisco.

Have fun with the new bees!

Did you look at the Alienbees Foldable boxes? They have the speedring attached so they are very easy to setup. Traditional softboxes are a bit more tricky and require more time to setup and tear down. I borrowed the Alienbees Medium softbox from a friend and it was really nice.
