Went to the park and tried to get some macros. My gear was Canon 40D + Kenko Ext Tubes + 50mm f/1.4. This is my first time getting real macro shots.

Now, I'm not saying these are LordV quality. However, I think they are very decent.

The ants are about 1/8"...very tiny. I'm including an above view of the nest for reference.

    Way cool!
I #3 best because of the ant carrying the larve(?). I have been looking for an ant that is carrying someting bigger then itself too capture. Great job. MM

Thank you everyone for your comments. I would have to say that extention tubes is probably the best thing I've purchased for my camera as far as items to learn new techniques.

Once I'm good with these I think i'll know the basics of macro and feel save getting the MP-E.

Boy oh boy do ants move quickly! Had a hard time with them, but it was fun.

Thanks for all the new comments. I'm going to try and get some shots of some Honeypot Ants today if I have time after work. they are much larger so I should be able to get more detail.mwink.gif
