Hey you'll,

Last week I ran across this tri-colored heron who had set himself up on one of the feeder pipes and was having snack time. He went through this same procedure around 7-8 times while I watched and had a 100% success rate.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Brilliant, great colours, sharp, you set the standard again.

This series of shots are really interesting, was it one burst of frames?

Does the new camera's speed and frame rate make a difference to you?
    Shay.

Thanks Shay. I took 7 series of shots of the heron and these are from two of those series.

The D2H's speed and frame rate make a major difference for me. I'm getting hsots that I would have missed before. Check out my "reznick Flip" post for anexample.

    Hey Ed,

I was pretty close to this guy. When they are hunting and feeding they are pretty much focused in on their activity and you can get in closer than the norm if you are careful. I guess I was about 10 yards away. I was shooting with my 300 and 1.4 TC so I had to back away at one point because I was too close to him for my lens.

    Hey Trish,

Having the time to just sit and observe them does help quite a bit. Once you get to know their "tells" you can anticipate the action. :D

    Hey Ian,

They really are quite amazing. This guy just sat motionless until he speid some movement. Then he would crane his neck for a closer look, hold that position until he was sure he had a target and then he made his move.
