This is a shot I took a few years ago. The subject (Kitty) was 88 years old and it is the last photograph ever taken of her because she died 11 days after she posed for this shot. Almost as an afterthought, I asked her to hold this portrait of herself which she had done to celebrate her 21st birthday. I posed her againt a weathered timber door as I wanted to emphasize the weathering on the timber with that of her face. Also the vertical lines separating the boards on the door work in well with the horizontal lines of the framed picture she is holding. I used a Nikon F2 with a Nikkor portrait lens the specs I don't recall. This, whilst not being a technical masterpiece, is still one of the shots that has received more comment than any other I have ever taken.
