I love the first one! It really looks like he is getting ready to pounce!!
Seriously, like he feels your are invading his space. How close/far were you?
Not too far away really, for a tiger. There was a deep ravine between the visitors and the tiger, he was out on a ledge close to his side of the ravine. I shot the first one at 137mm and cropped it a bit. The second one I shot at 200mm and cropped it very little, but as you can see I cut his toes off when I got in that close. I did get a few shots at 200mm where I got the whole tiger in the frame, but they were blurry due to a group kids jostling the fence as I was trying to shoot. I have an Olympus, (4/3rds system) so those figures convert 2x to 35mm.

I like them both...wish we had a zoo closer.
I really like the second one, he looks like he is trying to tell you something.

I love the fierce look in the second photo too... however, (and I almost hate to say this) that was actually a yawn!!
