I bought 6 rolls of gray 4 ich wide gaffers tape for work (Museum Exhibit) and can't find the place I got it on line. :(

Meanwhile you might check out The Tape Depot. THe appear to have many colors and widths 1/2 inch to 12 inch wide in 60 yard rolls and case lots.

But not all Gaffers tape is created equal. I bought a wholesale sleeve of 3" tape (x6) and it was basically black duct tape. It completely sucked donkey.

I've had great success w/ the Specialty Tape Factory website. It's not the cheapest. But as you know, you get what you pay for.

Know what you mean! Duct tape is NOT gaffer's tape. Still looking for the place I bought the 6 rolls from.

BMI Supply a theatrical supply place I've dealt with for for 25 years has gaffer's tape, but limited in colors and widths. They do have standard black and it is the real McCoy! They also have all kinds of cloth goods in muslins, duck, duvetine, velour etc.

I've had great results with findtape.com

the 30yd rolls of JVCC gaff are very inexpensive, and work great in the field. I do location audio much more than photography and this stuff leaves no residue and holds very heavy loads.

15524779-Ti.gif about 3M making superior adhesives. DuPont makes some pretty top notch stuff as well.

While employed at WSU I bought tons of supplies from these guys.....

Production Advantage and i also found out that both of the local threatical supply companies purchased from them also as well as most of the Lighting Designers I have gottne to know......While there are some gaffers that is dirt cheap it also will leave residue behind......none of the tape from PA has ever left a trail and I used the 1/2" wide (SPIKE) gaffers in a pleathoria of colors upto the 3"wide for various other uses (keeping cable in place, whether audio or lighting......this includes cables that came down the proscenium....the tape stayed ther for a little over a week and peeled off without a trace on the wall or cables...................
PA also has colored gels and many other goodies...............

    Good luck
