We just got some bluebonnets coming up here in texas. So we took the opprotunity to take some picks of my 6mo son in them. He was pretty fascinated by them. Here is the pic

I guess on the technique side does any body have an opinion on what I did with the dof. I am not sure I like it. Should the bluebonnets behind him be not blurred.

C&C welcome

What a cutie, and a very nice background. I like the DOF, but I would just crop it much tighter so there's less sky. Nice colors, too!

15524779-Ti.gif - the DOF is very nice. The flowers close to him are sharp. Those behind are blurred. This helps to focus viewer attention on the subject of the photo, the interaction of the child and the flowers that are within his arm's reach.

Also agree about cropping some of the sky from the shot - it was the very first thing that drew my attention. And, that's just not right when the photo is of such a cutie!:D

I think I have to agree with you. I printed a 5x7 the other day and it was alot of sky. So when in doubt make it a square. Here is a more cropped version. it does look better as far as putting all the attention on him.
