The focus and DOF on these looks good. You might be able to get a little more pop in the colors with some post. The angle just doesn't do it for me. Seems very distracting and keeps drawing my eyes away from the subject.
Just my opinion.
Thanks David! I did up the contrast a little, they seemed a little flat out of the camera. I dont trust my monitor right now so I try to keep it minimal. one of these days I will get it calibrated! but since my laptop is a p.o.c i havent really bothered...lol
I appreciate your thoughts on the angles. I was trying something different and to my eye it does the opposite of what it does for you....but dont worry, if it was your son, I would straighten it out for you! Upon further review though, I think maybe on the second I could do a closer crop...Maybe too much head room is causing your eye to wander...I'm gonna try and tell me if it helps a little....
you have a great eye, once I cropped it and straighted it out, a little light bulb came on and I thought "by golly that David was right"...lol. I like the straighter one too....next time I will play around with more options before I decide for certain!
He still has "angle" but its not as dramatic and it does allow to focus more on his eyes.....
This is why I love these forums, learn something everyday!

The action shot on an angle doesn't work for me but the sportrait, the more vertical slightly angled version, works well IMO.
