Willard, what verb does "mora" stem from? My Spanish comprehension is enough that I can get all but that one word. (Google translate gave me "blueberry" and I know that's not right... )

Thanks Willard! That's interesting - I can usually get most of Spanish based on my knowledge of French and Italian and Latin (as a singer it helps to know what you're singing about!) but this time I was stumped. I just looked it up and the closest verb I could find in French/Italian is demeurer/dimorare. I always find it interesting how Spanish has twists and turns that make it (for me, at least) different from the other Romance languages. Back in the dark ages when I was in a university Italian class some of my classmates were native Spanish speakers and they were disappointed to find out that Italian wasn't as easy for them as they imagined it micht be...

Spanish helps me most with Portuguese, Sara. Many similarities and, of course, Portugal abuts Spain.
