Sometimes a clear sign is not clear enough for everybody
I like the subtlety of this pair of images - the sign apparently indicates 4.4 meters in height ( 14 feet 5.2 inches ), but this is obviously not being appreciated by some of the truck drivers who seem to have hit the overpasses. Since no units are on the sign I think some of the drivers may be forgiven if they fail to recognize the significance of the sign, but if one is driving a tall vehicle you would hope the drivers are aware of their need for clearance.
I like this pair of images because it meets the original thrust of this thread when I originally started it many years ago - interesting, peculiar, or unusual, weird, or mis-spelled signs - not just a quick phone shot of a random street scene with a sign displayed somewhere without much interest in the sign.....
In northern France you can't escape the presence of Joan of Arc - there are commemorative plaques everywhere. This was on the outside wall of the cathedral in Amiens and basically says "Joan of Arc passed through here on the Feb. 27, 1429."

...I had a senior moment and posted a sign that I'd already posted last week.

I found this sign slightly too honest, perhaps?
