my class ( grade 3-4 ) today wanted to read / hear a book about birds in the everglades. to my surprize they were very interested. they liked the snowy egret and great blue heron the best. they were very concerned however about Snail Kites and the fact that they wont eat anything but apple snails....
They wanted to know why are they are called apple snails and why wont they eat anything else. the picture in the book wasnt that good so I told them I knew this retired ole' man in Florida who might be able to help us.....

have you seen any snail kites?28_1_6.gif

    Hey Troy,

I haven't but fortunately others have. The apple snail is avery popular snail. It is also the favorite food of the Limpkin. Here's a Limpkin with an apple snail

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
