A few of my shots...trying out my new $12 backdrop

Here's my $12 backdrop...a shower curtain! I wouldn't normally use it with a little boy and definitely not w/ this shirt, but I think these are kinda cute (yes I'm biased). I think this backdrop would be great for seniors, though!

1. Fine, I'll look, but I'm NOT smilin':

2. Mom, who's Carol Burnett?

3. This has been a ROUGH day.

4. ENOUGH already!

5. I give up!

6. Fine! ONE smile, almost:

7. Do you see the trouble in his eye?

8. Practicing high-key, which is not my style at all, but I want to be able to do it for clients that request it:'

9. And one because I think he's cute:

Jan, how are you white balancing? Seems to me the color is not consistent from image to image. The high key seem to make him more yellow. His little shirt goes from blue to teal.

Love #9 (though I'd like to see his head, and his eyes look a little bloodshot?), but lovely capture!

I use custom white balance which I set using an Expodisc. I only did CWB once, though...maybe I should've done it again when I switched to high-key, although the main light was still the same temp. Possibly it's because I added a bump in contrast w/ curves here and I didn't do that to the rest....I'll keep practicing! I shoot RAW so I'll go back to the original and see what I can do.
