How Do Visitors Search My Galleries?

Following the recent mechanical failure of my six month old 500gb Iomega external hard drive, I've decided to transfer lots more pics onto Smugmug (using S*E). With over 3.5gb online, how to visitors to my site search their way around the multitude of Galleries I have developing.

I cant find any way to add a search button to my home page - or isn't there one?

Hope someone can answer this - I've searched the support forum but not found any answers so far.

There are a couple of ways to add a search. The first is the simplest, see # 7 in the customization FAQ at http://www.smugmug.com/help/customize-faq.mg.

You can also create a page that shows a search box, keywords, and the ability to select photos by date. I found these two threads - and I'm including both in case there are different methods, start with one and then pick up any missing pieces from the other -

If you haven't already keyworded your photos, I would recommend adding keywords.

Quick hint on searching... sometimes using Google for the search is a good thing. If you do that you'll need to include the site name. For example, you could search for

search box site:www.dgrin.com
