Here are my first real attempts at some insect photography! Well, my actual first attempts were experimental at 3200 ISO which I mentioned in my other thread. I guess these are my first at 100 ISO.
Anybody know why the fly(?) in the second shot appears to have a dented eye?

#1 is a crab spider, #2 & #4 are hover flies, #6 a capsid/mirid plant bug.
Not uncommon to see hoverflies or flies with a dented eye- never sure if it's a flying accident or a near miss with a predator.

Do not know how to answer your question, but #2 is my favorite in this series

Great series TtamNedlog, I really like that first shot of the Crab Spider.
Maybe your hover-fly survived an attack of some kind, or was born like that, he definitely has a dent in his eye.
The Fungi is very pretty, love the towering layers

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
The sharpness in the last one makes it really jump out.
Well done

I'm working on some b/w film-versions of this for a project, although I'm going to "artsy" it up a bit and scratch the negatives and tone the prints. Once I get them finished I'll try and scan them and post them here. *crosses fingers*
