Unknown Beetle

I found this creature in a corner in the hallway. I placed it on a piece of paper to get a better angle. Can anyone please identify it for me.

    Lovely shots bob - not a beetle but a vine weevil adult. The grubs of this species can make a bit of a mess of plants as they eat the roots.

    I have one of these Weevels given to me sometime ago,
    unfortunately it died within 24hrs.

    They are so interesting to watch,
    and they have what look like little hooks on their feet.
    They also have pads on their feet allow them to walk on just about any surface, including glass.

    I know they are a pest, but I just cannot bring myself to kill these things.
