I would like to inform you all that my grandfather Rev Dale Chambers has gone home to be with the lord. He was a great great man of God. He served this world the best he could. He started and pastored his church 44 years ago here in my home town of Franklin Ohio. He is now cancer free and dancing with joy. He will be missed.

The rest of the story can be found here.

Here is a shot of him and his lovely wife.

My condolences. Death is really a tough old bird. But making peace with it is making peace with ourselves.
    If not now, when?

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Tim, I'm so sorry. I feel somehow closer to your grandfather because of the loving way you've introduced him to us and chronicled his illness. My sincerest condolences to you, your grandmother and your family.

    Thanks guys,

Tomorrow starts our services. Not looking forward to it. Going to be a long couple of days.

Bought a new suit today :cry ; love the suit, hate the reason for it.

Also went and approved of the headstone and placement.:cry

Think of me the next few days if you all would, Grandma is going to have it real rough.

May the Peace that passes all understanding be upon
you and your family at this time Tim....remember this promise-

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, the you sorrow not, as those who have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

    I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Blessed are they that mourn for THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED.

God Bless, and take care Tim.

Well just came in from the viewing......

Went really well, Grandma was strong and did pretty well. The line was thick and solid for over 5 hours. The turn out was HUGE! The church is being wired for sound and video in every available space for tomorrow. We are expecting an even larger crowd.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers for tomorrow. The service will start at 10am.

Thank you Dgrin for all your support.

    Services were today.

Everything was nice. He wanted it to be uplifting, so thats what he got. It was a good thing that the audio and video was being sent to the other areas of the church because it was a packed house. The service was about 3 hours with 4 pastors preaching the service. We then had about 2 hours of letting the guest walk past the casket. We then closed the casket and drapped a christian flag over it. The perstion was about 200 cars long with a 5 car police escort. As I and the other men carried the casket past a long line of preachers at the grave site they waved their Bible's in rememberance. We then folded the flag and presented it to grandma. The gravesite service was shorter. We then returned to the church for a remberance lunch. The ladies of the church were great. They fixed soooo much food. We had a great time of rememberance and story telling. It was a sad but happy time knowing that he was gone but in the presance of the Lord. The weather was very nice, we were worried earlier in the week of rain.

Thanks Dgrin for your caring comments.
