I've got a much earlier version of this tool and am very happy with it. I can see a future need for more than single monitor calibration, but I'm not there yet.

You may also want to check out Andy's review of the Huey (link) as a start (the review is more than a year old now).

Same here. I'm still using my older Spyder & it's working fine. I'd also look at the eyeOne. IIRC, I saw a lot of post traffic last year about troubles with the Huey--I'd personally stay away from it; seemed like there was a bunch of trouble getting it working where the others didn't have a problem.

You might also want to consider the eye-one Display 2 from X-Rite.

I'm going to give this thread a bump to get the latest feedback on Eye-one vs Spyder2 vs Huey. I have a Dell Latitude that gives me red prints. Drives me nuts and I too am looking for a calibrated monitor. Thanks

Ya, actually I have. The more I look, the more I get dizzy. I was set on the Spyder2 than saw Andy's thread on the Huey and then I was set on that one until I saw the post on the bad string of those, then I was set on the Eye-one but the price seemed higher than the Spyder that I thought I wanted. I'm guessing that not too many people have done first hand side-by-side comparison's on these units and can only comment on what they have. I guess I'm wanting to see : Hey, I have that laptop and PS and the Epson R800 and I use ________ and it works great. Then I want to a link that someone posted and it was a 995 dollar unit from amazon. The Eye-one EOD system thing. Yikes. Soooo, I'm looking for someone to take me by the hand I guess. Thanks

I use the Eye-One Display 2, about a year old, cost I think about $250 US, on a Dell 19" Ultrasharp, and get fine results. Easy to use, and ambient lighting sensor capability is a plus. For ambient lighting, btw, I use a single n:Vision 100W equivalent daylight spiral bulb in a clamp-on aluminum 8" diameter bowl holder (Home Depot, about $3 US), clamped on a shelf just above eye-level pointed 45 degrees up, with window blinds closed, walls fairly neutral light taupe color, ceiling white. Gives an Eye-One ambient reading square in the middle of the green range, about perfect.

Not knowing how these mfgrs are intertwined, my Eye-One Display 2 says "gretagmacbeth/Pantone", not X-Rite. Hope this doesn't confuse things.

It's all the same. GretagMacbeth bought Pantone; and were bought out my X-rite. Same device, different names.

I was freaked out how everything changed , on my monitor, once I calibrated with Huey Pro. Then I PP'd with the new calibration, and am a bit embarrased that I believed anything before calibration was correct. Printing of my photographs has become true...good, or bad.

but do you like the H-Pro?? It is my understanding that the only difference betwixt Pro and not Pro is the ability of the Pro to calibrate 2 mons at same time.........Is this true?

True. But I got a good deal on it, and hope to one day use two monitors.

I have been using the Lil' Huey for over a year now. It may not have all the features of some of the more expensive tools, but it works. I have not had any issues, and as others have said was pretty shocked the first time I used it. I paid less than $100....best thing I ever did for my photography. I think that if you do ANY post production work at all on photos and aren't calibrating ,by whatever means, then you are working totally in the blind.

I've owned both the Spyder2 and the Eye-One Display 2. Both worked extremely well. The Eye-One Display 2 is quicker to calibrate and overall the profiles seem slightly more accurate with regards to matching my prints. That said, I would recommend either without any reservation.
