I got my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens in tonight, so I wanted to snap a few shots.

    I think the first one is nice but could benefit from a white balance/white point adjustment and you cut off her toes. My guess is that chair and her shirt are close to white. The second one looks like it could use a little more light and a white balance adjustment also. Looks too yellow. thumb.gif

    If you are opened up around the 1.4 the focus is such a narrow range -- part of the appeal of the lens of course. In your first pic, though, you're focused more on her knees than her face :D

    The second takes better advantage of the shallow depth of field, by throwing the backgrownd way out of focus. I'm still not sure you quite nailed your eyes, though.

    Ditto about the toes... WB is a little warm.

    The Canon 50 1.4 is AWESOME! One of my favorites!
