Over all I like them, but it seems as though you forgot your flash at home. There are several images that lack detail in the shadows. Fill flash works wonders shooting outdoors in the sun to soften those shadows.
Looks like you've only been here for a little while, so welcome to dgrin
The shots are nice, but I have a little bit of feedback for you.
As Ryan said, fill flash is your friend in situations like this. It's OK to use your flash in the daytime. As a matter of fact, it's encouraged.
The shots vary on sharpness, exposure and saturation from shot to shot. This is greatly exaggerated by seeing them side to side, but most likely the client will see them this way too.
The parents to be don't look completely comfortable in front of the camera. IMHO, it's a photographers job to help put them at ease so they look their best, some people look good and ultra posed shots, others don't. I think joking around w/ them or whatever it took to get them (especially momma) to loosen up would have yielded in much better shots.
It looks like you were conscientious of the sun and picked a good time later in the day. Perhaps twisting mom and dad a bit more into the sun would have provided more light for you to work with. But I like shadows when I shoot people. Some people don't.
For your first maternity shoot though, you did a great job

agreed...also I think the DOF field should have been less with most of them...With the backgorund the blurred more, you put the focus on the subjects, but you will still get an idea of where they are at.
With all that said, there are some good shots...The lighthouse one I like alot...
The poses seema bit stiff to me. Also every shot has hands/arms touching or around the belly which makes it repetitive as far as composition. I like the name in the sand though the shadows are a bit harsh.
I echo the the above posters with respect to the lighting, flash, etc.

i appreciate your feedback but im unsure what you expect from a maternity shoot if not for the hands to be touching/around the belly... besides the fact that it is natural for a pregnant woman to hold/touch her belly, the focus is the belly so people tend to hold or touch the belly in most maternity shots i have seen
now if you have other ideas to bring the focus to the belly without making the mother uncomfortable (she was not one who was willing to remove the shirt to show her belly and was actually having contractions during the shoot) that would be very much appreciated
