Love the first one Phil, Brian might be able to tell you what caused that soft ghosting type effect on the last shot, I've had this happen to me too.

#2 is my pick. All of them a great but #2 is so close to its face. You can even see its tongue. MM

I actually rather like the last one - neat effect.
Think in the last one there's a few possibilities.
Could be an artifact from focus stacking (if it was focus stacked) or it could partial obscuring of the lower part of the subject by the object the fly is standing on- it's obviously a low level shot or it could be a light relection from the sun or the flash going straight back into the lens.

HI BRIAN, #1 & #2 FOCUS STACKED, NOT #3.
WAS TAKEN ON WINDOWLEDGE , COULD IT BE A REFLECTION OFF THE GLASS FROM FLASH?

Thanks Bob, only took these after work as ex- tubes had arrived in post. only had 15 mins of sunlight. they came out ok.
the greater mag makes focus stacking a lot more difficult!
