He called it a "cajun accordian". I am not familiar with this instrument enough to know if a cajun one is different than a regular one, but I think it may be smaller. I did not realize that like a harmonica, a cajun accordian is built to play a particular key. For a different key, a different instrument is required. He was a real interesting guy. He and his wife teach historical dance at all of the local...and not so local Civil War Reinactments. He is also obviously a cajun musician.
