Waxwings. And an ID

and every spring, we have a visit by random finches. Never the same nor more than one at a time. This years (quick grab through glass), very large - that is a redpoll next to it:

    Pretty waxwings Ann. I can't help with the ID on the finch, but it is probably a duller female.

    Stephen, Harry, Glenn - thanks! Easy enough to give him more room, Glenn - its a pretty big crop, even though I was shooting the 300mm from the car to a tree not more than 5 ft away.

    I did my first car shooting a couple of weeks ago. It makes it alot easier to get close to the birds!
