I spent most of today circumnavigating Rice Lake with my friend Robert, photographing ospreys. Great company, a great time and a great shoot. I brought home a basket load of keepers. Thanks for the great day, Robert.

Here is a random sampling of what I brought home...

Thanks a lot folks. The osprey was a threatened species here not that long ago but have made a great recovery. We now have an abundance of them and it's great to see. Lot's of photo opportunities now.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hi Harv, Very nice set from a successful day of shooting. I haven't seen an Osprey around here all winter, actually since early last fall if I recall correctly. I don't know why they by-passed us this year.

    Great shooting..clap.gif

Thanks a lot, Chris. Ours just seemed to show up overnight. Of 16 nests I have checked, I found 14 occupied. Should be a good breeding season.

Nice set of images thumb.gif Thanks for sharing. This is the only way I get to see them :cry They were in abundance where I grew up and I miss them now. They are fun to watch but I've been chased away from more than one nest when I innadvertantly strayed too close when fishing, etc. rolleyes1.gif

Nice shots! I sent this link to my daughter and she asked me to tell you thank you. She is drawing Ospery and could not find a good photo of the underside, until now. :D
