I just pointed my lens at a ruler at 1:1 and I can see as much of the ruler as the sensor is wide. So the lens seems ok, that fly must have been smaller than I thought.
How did you keep your nerve when faced with this beast? Or do these things just not scare you?

Rod , i am very wary of wasps. you cannot predict what they might do next. worth the risk though getting very close for pics like this.
