I just wondered if anyone had seen this site yet.

They provide a pretty neat service, plus they have it integrated with SmugMug so you can pull photos directly from your SmugMug Albums and turn them into music videos.
Their system programatically analyzes the photos and the music to present your photos in a way that fits with the music. I tried it out, and was impressed. It's like a smart photo montage builder in a box, and it looks great!
They use Amazon EC2 to drive all the processing and encoding of the video. You can create 30 second clips for free, which consists of about 20 photos. If you want a longer video you can pay $3 and have it create a full length video. It was highlighted on the Amazon Web Services blog http://aws.typepad.com/aws/2008/04/animoto---scali.html They said that they went from using 50-100 instances to using 3,400 EC2 instances in one week. That's quite a scalable platform.
