An excellent composition, and I like your choice to convert to BW. I also like the square crop. It appears that the eyes aren't as sharp as the brim of her hat, but I still like it!

Thanks Jeff. Yes her eyes unfortunately did not come out as the sharpest object but I thought overall the shot came out good considering it was a "grab the camera on the counter, spin around and shoot" I thought also the color version had too many distracting items like the animals on her shirt and some things in the background so that mitigated some of that by going BW.
Such a cutie! I like the conversion...but I think it might benefit from cropping about half her shirt off the bottom, as the white of her shirt distracts and pulls you away from her face.
The conversion is almost finished - but your whites aren't white and your blacks aren't black. Need to set a white and black point, add a little contrast and this would be a killer photo.

Thanks Scott. I've not tried setting absolute points before. I'll take a shot at it but may ping you for a lil direction if you are open for it?
Hi LittleLew: I'm actually not sure how to read your comment as a left handed compliment or a negative.
She's cute but I don't think the conversion is attractive.
EDIT: I realized after looking at this that I was much less than helpful.
It is always difficult making a comment about a picture where the photographer has a deep emotional commitment to the subject but............, I see a problem in that every other part of this image but her face is either brighter, more contrasty or has more going on than her face which is rather toneless and flat in the conversion. When looking at this picture, my eye always is pulled away from her face because of its relative lack of punch.
So Randy have you purchased your fire arms license yet? I think you may need it with the eyes on your girl, holy cow she's gonna break some hearts!!! Very nice picture.

Thanks Shannon. Yes I've had my Class A LTC for a while .....comes with the territory of being x-militray sf.
Very nice shot. The black and white makes it look a little on the dark side to me.
Thanks Dawssvt. I'm finding that the monitor that I view these on make a huge difference. On my LG this looks very nice other than the point that the whites and blacks can be of truer tones. I'm going to test some fine tuning but I like it.

Her face looks rather dull and virutally everything in the photo attracts the eye more.
